BRITISH FINAL
 
PETER DOYLE became British Champion for a second time, after his previous win in 2017, by beating 2-times former champion LIAM REAY in a run-off for the title.  CRAIG LEONARD took 3rd place as some of the more highly fancied faces in the field failed to produce the performances expected of them.  Those included current GP riders Hayden Wood, Ray France and Steve Edgar, who finished 4th to 6th respectively.  With 7 qualifying places up for grabs in the next round Alan Connor's 8 points proved enough to progress but a run-off was required to settle the rest.  In the end Robbie Cormack, Frankie Young and Henry Valentine, who recovered well from a fall and a pointless heat next time out, took the remaining places in the GP Challenge Semi Finals.  Marcus Jay missed out in that run-off and was the one rider who the bookies had been tipping to qualify who didn't make it.
