SWEDISH GRAND PRIX

Surely this was the meeting where BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) all but tied up this season's world title, barring a disaster in the last round.  He began with an exclusion but recovered to drop just one more point on his way to winning the Swedish GP, his third round win of the campaign.  His only realistic challenger for the title had a real off day and the Polish star now leads by 12 points at the top of the leaderboard.  Behind him in the Grand Final here were FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS), the 2018 champion moves up from 6th to 3rd overall, TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING), the defending champion's 13 points giving him a 6 point cushion in the top 8, and wild card rider for the round RUMUN DIMOTROV (UNATTACHED).

3 of the riders who dipped out in the Semi Finals enhanced their chances of a top 8 finish and automatic qualification for next season's series.  KENNI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS), now in joint 9th, and SVEN SVENSSON (STOCKHOLM SCORPIONS) both narrowed the gap to the top 8 places and are now looking for a good performance in the final round.  JACK HAGEN (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) scored double figures and moves from 10th into the vital 8th spot.  The other Semi Finalist was RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) who scored a decent 10 points but drops out of the top 3 as the youngster continues to learn about the quality needed at the very highest level of the sport with each round - the big question now is can the youngster battle back and finish in the top 3 in his debut season?

Of the rest MACIEJ TERCJAK (WOLSTON WARRIORS), JACEK KLECHA (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) and HAYDEN WOOD (WANTAGE KINGS) had solid enough rounds that see them go into the last round in roughly the same position they began this one.  STEVE EDGAR (WOLSTON WARRIORS) just didn't get going until his last ride and now faces a huge task if he wants to be World Champion after he came into this meeting joint top of the leaderboard, he still sits 7 clear in 2nd and will at least be looking to make sure he ends up on the rostrum.  LOUIS JOOSSENS (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) lost ground on the top 8 and the round he missed through injury looks like it will prove too much and he will head to the GP Challenge.  PETR MARKO (HULL ANGELS) dropped out of the top 8 for the first time in the series - but is just a point off and will be looking for a big finish to qualify automatically for next season.  Many supporters will be very happy to see him do so after the impressive displays he and fellow youngster Ray France have produced this year.
