FINLAND/NORWAY GRAND PRIX

In a round which saw 6 of the top 8 at the start of the meeting fail to reach the Semi Finals BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) recovered from a mid-meeting dip to race to victory and put himself 2 points clear at the top of the standings with the series now at the halfway stage.  Behind him LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS) began his battle back towards a top 8 spot, moving up from 13th to 9th, after an injury forced him to miss the last round and KENNI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS) finished 3rd in the meeting to narrow the gap in the race for the top 8 places which guarantee automatic qualification for next season's GPs.  The Grand Final was completed by STEVE EDGAR (WOLSTON WARRIORS) who rode fantastically throughout before being hit by bike troubles in the final which cost him a chance to go top of the leaderboard but he's still well placed to challenge for the title.

With so many of the early leaders in the series not having the best round a couple of riders took advantage to improve their standings.  JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) moved into the top 8, SVEN SVENSSON (STOCKHOLM SCORPIONS) narrowed the gap to 8th place and FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTED KINGS) also moved up in the middle of the standings as the trio recorded double figure scores.  The other rider to reach the Semis was wild card LEON JEPPESEN (unattached) who made a flying start but seemed to run into engine troubles in the latter stages.  HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) started the day joint top but just couldn't get going and slips to 3rd overall, now 11 points behind the leader.  Others who came in looking to push at the very top but struggled to match the leading riders in this round were JACK HAGEN (BOTTESFORD BULLETS), RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING), PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) and TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) although their overall placings weren't particularly negatively affected.  MACIEJ TERCJAK (HULL ANGELS) drops out of the top 8 with 4 rounds of the 8 now gone but it's incredibly tight from the rostrum places all the way down to 12th and there are sure to be more twists and turns to come in the second half of this season's GP series!
