POLISH GRAND PRIX

BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) was crowned World Champion after producing a steady display which saw his wrap up the title with a few races to spare as none of his only serious rival, STEVE EDGAR (WOLSTON WARRIORS) failed to make up any ground.  Edgar's 6 point haul was enough to keep him 2nd overall and the World Final rostrum places were completed by FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) who had an uninspiring round but used some extra time whilst the latter stages of this round played out to get himself ready for a run-off victory and take the bronze medal overall.

As the top 3 at the start failed to progress beyond the main meeting none of the other riders could quite do enough to make up the ground on them and break onto the rostrum.  HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) came close with a victory in the GP giving him a run-off for 3rd overall but he looked tired as he took his 3rd race in a row and was outpaced by Chong.  JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) came 3rd in this round and 5th overall, just a point outside the top 3 in the final standings.  The other Grand Finalists in this were both concerned with a top 8 spot to guarantee them a place in next year's series.  PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) took 2nd in the Grand Final and his 15 point haul puts him joint 7th overall and definitely back for next season.  KENNI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS) turned in a great effort but will head to the GP Challenge after finishing 9th overall.

The Semi Finalists in this round were LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS), JACK HAGEN (BOTTESFORD BULLETS), LEONID IZOTOV (unattached) and TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING).  The former two rode hard for points but have fallen short of the top 8 overall, with Joossens perhaps feeling hard done by after missing a round through injury earlier in the season.  Izotov was in this round as a wild card pick and showed he can mix it with the big boys ahead of his trip to the GP Challenge where he will try to qualify for next season's series.  Nemecek ends joint 7th and the 2018/19 champion will be back to compete next season for certain.  From the rest RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) finishes 6th overall whilst MACIEJ TERCJAK (HULL ANGELS), SVEN SVENSSON (Stockholm Scorpions), BORIS DVOYNEV (NEWMARKET RAIDERS) and RUDI JURITZEN (MILTON KEYNES CATS) will need to go through the GP Challenge meeting if they want to compete in the series in 2020.
