DANISH GRAND PRIX

The 2019 Grand Prix series slowly begins to take shape with HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS), who has finished 3rd in the series on 3 occasions, winning the Danish grand Prix to move into the top 3 once more and suggest he will be in the running for the title once again.  BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) were on the rostrum in this round and are a single point behind Wood overall.  The trio are now all within 5 points of the series leader, RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) who continued his stunning debut GP season by reaching the Grand Final once again.

Defending World Champion TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) scored 11 points as he reached the Semi Final and he is handily placed, in 2nd overall, as he looks to become only the 5th rider to win more than one title, and the third man to retain the crown.  Other Semi Finalists were JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS), STEEN ERIKSEN (Unattached) and KENNI ALGREEN (WANTAGE KINGS).  Klech and Algreen are joint 9th after this round whilst Wild Card Eriksen was showing clubs that he still has much to offer at the very highest level as he looks to get fixed up with a league place somewhere - particularly with the first averages changes coming up in the UK shortly.

Of the rest JACK HAGEN (BOTTESFORD BULLETS), STEVE EDGAR (WOLSTON WARRIORS) and LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS) all failed to follow up their high scoring opening round with a significant performance here, but the three of them do stay in the top 8 spots overall.  The top 12 riders have all showed good indications that they are to be taken seriously in the series this year - as for Juritzen, Svensson and Dvoynev, all three of them will need to show some improved form before the halfway stage of the GPs if they don't want to be left behind.
