| Defending world champion TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) won the first GP of the new season to stake an early claim that he is ready, prepared and capable of retaining his title. The runner-up was RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) who scored the most in the round and demonstrated the top end strength of this season's King's Lynn side by making it a club 1-2. JACK HADEN (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) and LOUIS JOOSSENS (HULL ANGELS) completed the Grand Final and their 15 and 13 points respectively represent great starts to their title challenges. |
| STEVE EDGAR (WOLSTON WARRIORS) went out in the Semi Final but had ridden well in the meeting and his 13 point total sees him handily placed after the opening round. HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) was the other rider to record a double figure return as he started well but faded a little in the second half of the meeitng. The other Semi Finalists were BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) and FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS), the latter of course runner-up in the series last season. |
| From the rest young PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) made an impressive start as a permanent GP rider, justifying his Wild Card selection with a good 7 points and just missing out on reaching the Semis. The Wild Card for this meeting was EDDIE MENDOZA (NECRONS) who found the going tough, this level is a big step up from the Power League, but he picked up a couple of points to suggest he could have a future at the highest level over the coming few years. |
